Doorstep criminals active in Istead Rise


We have received reports of doorstep criminals targeting residents in Istead Rise.


What happens:

  • Someone knocks on your door.
  • They claim that due to the snow, your roof is damaged.
  • They reassure you and state the work can start straight away before further damage is done.


What to do:

  • Do not respond to cold callers.
  • Report to Kent Police on 101, or call 999 if you feel threatened.
  • If your roof is damaged, find an approved trader on Trading Standards Checked.
  • Remember to always get three quotes before agreeing to any work.

Please warn vulnerable family members, friends and neighbours in the area.
